Welcome Uncle Ron

With rainy season in full downpour, our field team has been shrinking. Several of our staff are taking some much needed time off to rest and reset for another busy program year.

One courageous soul has decided to brave the storms of rainy season and spend July and August working in Liberia. Ron Cramer (you might recognize the name, Cramer, he is our Country Director Matt’s father) just retired from 35 years teaching in the states and now joins us to hold down the Child Development Program for the summer.

He will work directly with the children in our three core orphanages. Each week he will be leading them in fun activities to help distract them from the doldrums of being stuck inside with all the rain. Included in this will be some educational instruction and games to help cement what they have already learned throughout the past school year.

As time allows, he will endeavor to provide some teacher-training sessions, including question and answer times, discussions of teaching and discipline techniques, and providing suggestions as to how to help each child attain whatever level of success they can, given their current level of schooling.

Ron has come with a full heart, ready to pour into the children of Liberia. It didn’t take long for the kids to fall in love with Uncle Ron-- he already has them laughing and learning. Maybe rainy season won’t be so gray this year after all.

Wonderful! Welcome Uncle

Wonderful! Welcome Uncle Ron! Thanks for helping the kids!

How beautiful for your

How beautiful for your children that they have "Uncle Ron" there to help them! He was a treasure when he taught at Jefferson Elementary School in Ohio, and he is a treasure in Liberia, too.
