URGENT: Anita's Story

This is a photo of Anita, taken only eight weeks ago. Anita lives at one of our core orphanages and is typically a happy, healthy, smart and kind little girl.

Below that is a photo of Anita today. As you can see, she doesn't look anything like she did a few short months ago. 

Anita is dangerously sick and is in desperate need of your prayers. Recently, she accidentally drank some water that had a cleaning solution in it and, as a result, suffered burns to her upper GI tract. It is extremely painful for her to swallow, which means she’s having a lot of difficulty eating. She has already lost almost ten pounds--about a fifth of her body weight. She is in pain and weak and listless, and it's absolutely heartbreaking.

Orphan Relief and Rescue is working hard to get her the medical attention that she needs. This is not an easy task in Liberia, where the healthcare system is a far cry from that in the States. It is often difficult to find adequate care for complicated cases like Anita’s.

Please, please, please pray for Anita. Pray for healing; pray that she is able to get the nutrition that she desperately needs; and pray for wisdom and guidance as we seek out medical care for this beautiful little girl.
