The next big thing

With the summer now behind us and our team back in Liberia, many folks are asking us, "So what's next?" The answer is there's a lot of work to do!
We have a list of projects that we would like to see accomplished in the coming year--everything from wells to bunk beds, academic scholarships to a brand new school. The photo above is an artist's rendering of the new school (lower floors) and boys' dormitory (upper) at Frances Gaskin Children's Refuge.
You may remember that Frances Gaskin is home to thirty of the most amazingly talented, vibrant children we've ever worked with. These kids have amazing potential. Furthermore the directors, Emmanuel and Evelyn, are loving parents and amazing stewards of everything they are given. These are the kind of folks that are always working, always multiplying our efforts.
The proposed building, with six ground-level classrooms and two bedrooms upstairs for the boys, will replace the current mud-and-stick school (pictured), expand the orphanage's capacity to serve the community, and provide space to separate the boys and girls as they're coming into their teens. The estimated cost of this 3,000 square foot building (without furnishings and finishes) is estimated at $159,000, and will be built through our partners at West Construction.
In the coming months we're going to break this down into smaller amounts for churches, groups and individuals to take on a piece of the project. We invite you to jump in and provide for these children's future.
