Reunion

Last month I told you about the opportunity three boys had to receive hernia repair surgeries, free of charge from Children’s Surgery International. Jeremiah, Fumbeh and Joshua all live in different orphanages, so they do not get to see each other. They spent three days together in the hospital and really hit it off. Apparently, bonding happens quickly when you are having surgery and eating chocolate pudding together. Every time I have visited their respective homes, I have been bombarded with questions about their new friends. So, I decided to facilitate a reunion.

First, I picked up Fumbeh and went to Jeremiah’s orphanage. When he saw us coming, he ran to the truck and leapt into the backseat with a squeal to his friends, “This is the boy I was telling you about!” Then we headed out towards Joshua’s home for the surprise. Joshua skipped out to the truck as he always does. Somehow his already huge smile grew even bigger when he saw his friends in the backseat. The three boys enjoyed the afternoon by catching up, laughing, walking around arm in arm and even inspecting each other’s surgical scars.
