Pigs! Pigs! Pigs!

I recently returned from a trip to Hunger Pillar Mission Orphanage in Sinoe County, about seven hours' drive. I was carrying the director of the orphanage, Pastor Wleh, a local agricultural specialist, and three pigs for the home's newly constructed piggery. These pigs were in addition to three others that Orphan Relief and Rescue sent down just over two months ago.

Pastor Wleh has been teaching agriculture and animal husbandry to the six boys that live at the home. They go to school in the mornings and in the afternoon they work on the farm growing rice, pineapples, peppers, eggplant, and peanuts. The boys were very excited to have the new pigs and to show me around their farm. I am sure Orphan Relief and Rescue will be working much more with Pastor Wleh and the boys at Hungerpillar in the future. As for now, though, the rains have made the road impassable so this was our last trip until dry season.
