Lost in Liberia

As smiling people streamed through our offices last Wednesday, it was evident that our open house was a success! The food was great, the discussion was uplifting, the art moving, and the stories of the work filled the atmosphere.

As our visitors entered, they were taken through a gallery showing the images of beauty and sorrow of the children in Liberia (thanks to Justin Clemons Photography). The walls are designed like Liberian orphanages: textured walls with browns, rust and green, reflecting the realities of actual war-torn walls. Holes were created to resemble gunshots, and chips and dents made this experience seem as if one were actually walking through an orphanage. Our guests were taken in by the work that is being done and it was inspiring to see how the vivid photography portrayed the story of precious lives.

Now, with the offices up and running, we are ready to continue our administrative work in the greater Seattle area as well as maintaining our field work in West Africa. A big thank you to all of our visitors, partners and new friends of Orphan Relief and Rescue. Thank you for making this event a huge success! If you were unable to make our open house, please feel free to stop by anytime between the hours of 9am - 5pm. We would love to share our vision with you.
