Lives Changed

When we see the same children on a daily basis, it's easy to forget how much the children have improved. It's when you take a step back and look at the progress, changes and miracles that it is easy to see that with love and time, lives are being changed.
Although we work with hundreds of children in Liberia, there are those special few that really stand out. Children who have beaten the odds, fought long and hard, or simply don't even look like the same child anymore. Sometimes we call it 'the before and afters', but I like to call them lives changed. Lives changed because of your prayers, partnership, encouragement and support.

Some of you might remember Gifty. When we found Gifty, she was incredibly sick. After many tests and trips to the hospital, we learned that Gifty needed a liver transplant. Transplants are not possible in Liberia, and adoptions are also closed, but through the miraculous hand of God, Gifty was adopted and finally received her much-needed liver transplant! Today, Gifty is healthy, happy and thriving!

Another group of children that have had a long and difficult road are these four children. Their orphanage home was truly one of the worst. In an interesting answer to our long-standing prayer for these children, the boy's dormitory burned down this past June. Because of the fire, the home was closed down and all of the children were moved to other orphanages. The children above went to another orphanage together. After battling constant illness, hunger and lack of education, these children had a new chance at life. After only one week in their new home, they were already happier and healthier. Now it's been a few months, and just look at their smiles!

Thank you so much for your continued partnership throughout this journey. So many children's lives have been changed because of you. But, the journey is not over. There are so many more children who need help. Consider sponsoring a child or make a donation towards one of our urgent needs. We look forward to sharing more exciting stories with you about lives being changed in Liberia!
