Little Eddie

Three-year-old Eddie was near death just a year ago. His mother showed no care or regard for him, and it became clear to neighbors Emmanuel and Evelyn that Eddie would soon die in her care. As orphanage directors, they recognized the signs of an underweight child on the edge of collapse, and they took action.

They offered to take him into their home and nursed him for months until he regained weight. Now little Eddie calls them Mama and Papi. ORR was even able to arrange for surgery to correct his umbilical hernia this year through our friends at Children's Surgery International.

Sadly, Eddie's biological mother still wants nothing to do with him, and Eddie inevitably finds his way back to the orphanage each time he is taken home.

Having seen so many children abandoned in the markets and in dumpsters, I thank God that Eddie was rescued by such caring neighbors as Emmanuel and Evelyn. These are real leaders within their community. They have a huge heart for all children, and it shows every time I visit their orphanage. In addition to their own 30 children, they are schooling almost a hundred community children as well.

With every Orphan Relief and Rescue project at their home, we have seen Emmanuel and Evelyn turn around and reach out to help more and more in their community like Eddie. Now here are directors that really get it.

Thank you Emmanuel and

Thank you Emmanuel and Evelyn for all your hard work and dedication to these children, your love is a blessing to the orphans and all of us who can't be there.
