Grand Opening Celebration

Wednesday we celebrated the realization of a longtime dream of ours, as 37 kids jumped out of buses and went crazy checking out their new home. After two years of construction, Danny Feeney Memorial Orphanage is now complete, with brand new furniture, a freshly drilled well, and a teddy bear waiting on each bunk.
We were honored to have with us for the occasion the Honorable Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Joseph Geebro, along with representatives from UNICEF, the Union of Liberian Orphanages, Broadway Consolidated Group, and many other partners that have shared the burden with us along the way.

L to R: Rev. Stemms (Union of Liberian Orphanages), Ina Christiansen (UNICEF), Hon. Joseph Geebro (Deputy Minister for Social Welfare), Salome Gbaryou (Director of the home), Rebecca Pratt (V.P. of Programs, Orphan Relief and Rescue)
Special thanks also to the Clackamas County Peace Officers' Benevolent Foundation and HeartCry, New Hope Baptist Church, who made this dream come true.
Our friends in the community and the government here are already petitioning for a school on the same campus, which we hope will be possible next year. Stay tuned for more!

This is wonderful. Thank you
This is wonderful. Thank you all for the hard and long effort that goes into making this a reality. It is great to see the Liberian community shoulder to shoulder in this.
