Give It Up!

Are you ready to accept the dare?

Give it Up! is a grass-roots movement of people who have chosen to make small sacrifices that bring huge impact to the orphaned and abandoned children in West Africa.

Giving up a luxury like coffee or going to the movies and donating the $25 saved to Orphan Relief & Rescue can save lives.  So give it up.  We dare you!

I thought this was a great video. Great cause, great video. I am definitely gonna 'Give it up!' :)

This definitely excites me.

This definitely excites me. I am givin up chocolate since it is obliviously a want more than a necessity. I'll be sure to spread the news on this!

I love to get manicures. I use my hands a lot at school and the manicure is pretty and protects my nails for 3 weeks - very satisfying. But after my son got involved with Orphan Relief and Rescue and I saw the suffering of children in Liberia, I realized my manicure was trivial, egocentric, and temproary. I have happily given up my manicure knowing my money is being used to improve the lives of children I could never reach except for Orphan Relief and Rescue. It is a pleasure to send my check each month.

Give It Up for my family

Give It Up for my family means a few less luxury items a month. Maybe one less Starbucks and one less trip to the ice cream store. Helping our friend, Elena, answer God's call, is worth every penny. Thanks for everything you do, ORR! <3

Well i have known about ORR

Well i have known about ORR (orphan relief and rescue) for 4 years, and i have been wanting to get involved with helping. So since i first heard about the give it up program i realized that it was the perfect way to help. Because i believe that we as the more fortunate need to help the less fortunate who need help. So for me i am starting off with $25 a month, but i will give the more i can. and i will be giving up energy drinks and snacks and things that i don't really need. so this will help me quit my dependency for energy drinks mostly. So my plan is to go this whole year without an energy drink and giving the money to the give it up program!

For me it's nutty bars.

I've worked especially hard this semester to save money on things such as food and electricity. However, a couple things I want but don't NEED are nutty bars and sweet tea. And thus, I'm drinking water instead of tea, and holding off on unnecessary snacking.

I'm pumped because not only am I benefitting children in Liberia, I am also creating a healthier Michael Kraus.

P.S. I've had the privilege of getting to know ORR pretty well over the past year. The people there are amazing and they are professionals at doing SO MUCH GOOD with limited resources. Rest assured that if you participate in the Give It Up campaign, your money will literally be used to accomplish good in the desperate country of Liberia.

For Me it's eating out!!

For Me it's eating out!!

I have decided to cut my budget in half for the next six months on eating out. This will help me to not only give, but also save and enjoy meals at home. I am so excited to begin this for the orphans who never eat out anyway.

I love this ministry! I love

I love this ministry! I love what you do! and I am so blessed and honored that I can give something up even as little as a limeaid from sonic. Because i've been able to sow into this ministry the Lord has begun breaking my heart even more for these orphans and for His Kingdom.

Following the example of our

Following the example of our pastor, we decided to downsize our home. Doing so has freed up $3000/mo (mortgage/property taxes/utilities) for kingdom work, and I can't tell you how giddy we get, now that we get to give that money to orphans instead of to a bank! We did struggle taking the first steps of obedience, but now that we're on the other side of that decision, I'm not sure if we actually feel like we gave anything up??? =)

For me, it's iced coffees...

For me, it's iced coffees... I can easily spend $40 a month on those blended mochas (always with an extra shot of caramel). But I recognize that I don't need them -- and the kids in Liberia, boys like Fabrice and Joshua, need it way more.

So this year, I'm passing on a luxury (my favorite luxury!) and sending $25 a month over to Liberia so that something small can do something huge.
